Our Story

Chestnut House Day Nursery is a truly magical setting. A former farm that dates back nearly 500 years, the homely environment is further enhanced by our beautiful gardens.

 Established more than 30 years ago, Chestnut House Day Nursery has been renovated and extended, but has maintained it’s links with the former farm. Chicken’s, ducks and pigs still reside and are a constant attraction to the children.

 In addition to the animals, the woodland learning area and outdoor classrooms, ensure that all children benefit from a great outdoor experience every day.

 With children at the centre of our care, at Chestnut House Day Nursery, we provide stimulating learning environments supported by endless opportunities to play and explore.

 Your child will develop crucial skills and play in a safe space where they are all encouraged to be who they want to be and develop at their own pace.

 Children who attend our Pre-School at Chestnut House Day Nursery also have the opportunity to take part in free Stretch and Grow sessions, these sessions help to instil healthy habits from an early age through play and fun activities.

 To further support our children’s health and well-being we offer weekly swimming lessons at our sister-site.

 Chestnut House Day Nursery is led by our experienced and fully-qualified Area Manager Louise Hassall alongside our Nursery Manager, Sophie Large.

 We have a team of highly-trained and experienced practitioners with the benefit of a fully qualified teacher leading our Pre-school. This ensures that your child will make a seamless transition to whatever school you choose, when the time comes.

 Louise and her professional team, nurture the children in a home from home environment, where each child is treated as an individual and has every possible opportunity to learn and thrive.

 Louise’s inspirational leadership has also helped to motivate the staff and children to reach out into the local community, including stimulating visits to libraries and local nursing homes and creating important partnerships and events with community organisations and charities too.
