Established in 1984, we have been providing quality childcare for 37 years.
At Chestnut House Day Nursery our aim is to provide a safe, friendly and supportive environment to help nurture and care for children both personally, developmentally and creatively so they can reach their full potential.
Chestnut House Day Nursery was established more than 30 years ago, in a former farmhouse. The 500-year-old Saughall-based farmhouse was bought in 2004 and has since been transformed into a magical place for play and exploration. With a starting cohort of 30 children, Chestnut House Day Nursery has been renovated and extended and now includes an animal corner, a woodland learning area, an outdoor classroom and an additional pre-school, holiday club and after school club Conkers, for more than 160 children.
With children at the centre of our care, at Chestnut House Day Nursery, we provide stimulating learning environments supported by a many opportunities to play and explore. Our children are able to develop crucial skills and play in a safe space where they are all encouraged to be who they want to be and develop at their own pace.
Children who attend our Pre-School at Chestnut House Day Nursery also have the opportunity to take part in free Stretch and Grow sessions, these sessions help to instil healthy habits from an early age through play and fun activities. To further support our children’s health and well-being we offer weekly swimming lessons at our sister-site, Ash Tree Day Nursery.
Chestnut House Day Nursery is led by our experienced and fully-qualified Area Manager Louise Hassall alongside our Nursery Manager, Sophie Large. We have a team of highly-trained and experienced practitioners with the benefit of a fully qualified teacher leading our Pre-school.
Louise and her passionate team nurture the children they care for in a home from home environment, where each child has equal opportunities to learn and thrive. Louise’s inspirational leadership has also helped to inspire staff and children to reach out into the local community, including stimulating visits to libraries and local nursing homes and creating important partnerships and events with community organisations and charities too.
Please never hesitate to ring the bell and come and see it for yourself.

“We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this excellent nursery”
“Our son has attended Chestnut House Nursery on a full time basis since he was four and a half months old. The warm and friendly team provide a caring and fun home from home and have worked with us through key stages of our son’s development, such as weaning and potty training. Our son has thrived in their care and genuinely loves being there, with his many friends, when he’s happy, we’re happy! We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this excellent nursery.”
